Spring

Rivers and mountains
in open sunlight

soft winds
among flowers and spice plants

swallows packing their nests with mud
ducks basking on warm sand

white birds mirrored
in the blue river

red flowers blazing
on the green slopes

I watch this rich procession
thinking, it’s time I went home
