And So Begins National Poetry Month!

Greetings, Poetry Lovers!  April arrives, and with it another celebration of National Poetry Month.

An entire month to share poems that make us feel alive! Poems that reach deep within us to express  the joy, pain, suffering, ecstasy, and sense of wonder we feel just by here now. Poems of moment, of immediacy, and poems of meaning and of lasting value.

We commence today (and the month and this year’s edition) with a short poem from Langston Hughes, who pays tribute to Team April’s touchstone poet, Walt Whitman.

Happy National Poetry Month! Let’s make it a great one!
